COVID-19

March 29, 2020

It’s been about 2 and a half weeks since we started dealing with COVID-19 in Montreal. We have a fair number of cases at our hospital but are not overwhelmed at this time. We have already seen how some people with the infection can get very sick very fast and we are concerned that we will see the overwhelming numbers of critically ill people that they have seen elsewhere.

I am very fortunate to work with a great team of healthcare workers. We are privileged to go to work every day and do our best to help others. It is a difficult time for many people of all ages. Thank you for the sacrifices you are making to help protect people you don’t know from getting sick and dying, and for the support you are giving healthcare workers (one example — the Transplant (CTV) team donated hundreds of masks and gowns to our hospital — thank you). Wishing all of you and your families good health. Take care of yourselves and, just as importantly, of one another.
